Anatomy of a Door Set

Every part, made to measure.

A complete LBD door set is more than a leaf and a handle. Here is how the pieces fit together — what to measure before you begin, and what you can make entirely your own.

Architrave
Frames the opening on both faces, concealing the wall joint. Customise: profile — square edge, ogee, bullnose or shadow-gap — in a finish to match the leaf.

Frame & lining
The structural surround set into the wall reveal. Customise: depth to suit your wall thickness, with a matching or contrasting finish.

Door stop
The rebate the leaf closes onto. Customise: integral rebated or planted, with optional acoustic and intumescent seals.

Door leaf
The door itself, finished to your specification. Customise: finish, glazing, size and fire rating (FD30 / FD60).

Hinges
Carry the leaf and set its swing. Customise: butt or fully concealed, in a finish to match the handle.

Handle & latch
Lever, latch and rose. Customise: lever design and metal finish, with privacy or locking options.

A check, not a measurement — measure both diagonals.

If they differ by more than 5–8 mm, the opening isn’t square — flag it to your installer.

Take each measurement carefully. Most doors can be installed within an error margin of around +1 cm, but please confirm your dimensions with your builder or installer before placing an order. Once an order is confirmed, the dimensions cannot be changed.
